Hi, I’m Phlare!

I’m a husband, a father, an engineer, and a gamer.

I gravitate towards Open World games and RPGs, but I also play all sorts of other stuff and am currently streaming Sunday and Monday Nights at twitch.tv/phlare

I have discovered that my favorite part of streaming is learning how to do cool things with all the fun streamer tech there is available out there, and I love showing other people how to build fun interactions and useful automations for their streams too.

Out of this was born my youtube channel, featuring tutorials on how to do all kinds of things to help improve your streams and build cool chatbot interactions.

My main area of expertise is with streamer.bot but I also enjoy building commands for StreamElements, StreamLabs, and Nightbot and learning new tricks in OBS Studio.

What’s this site about?

I like to help people.


My Twitch streams and YouTube videos are a great outlet for that and I’m going to continue doing all of that.

However, I know from personal experience that sometimes when i’m searching for a solution, sometimes I just want to READ the answer.

So it’s time for a blog.

Text-and-Screenshot Tutorials
I aim to duplicate all of my youtube content here in blog form with descriptive instructions, code examples, and screenshots. These posts will also link to the relevant video (and vice versa), as well as any useful export files, graphic assets, or whatever.

Quick Solutions and First Draft Tutorials
In my discord, I entertain questions and help round out ideas that other streamers bring to me, and sometimes there are simple solutions to things that are worth sharing, but not necessarily exciting enough for a video. Some of those will end up here too.

Updates to Custom Modules
I have a few custom Streamer.bot modules out there in the wild that I’ve shared one way or another. These will also be migrated here and the blog-style format will allow me to post updates about them in an easily shareable way that will always link back to the right place.
